Globally, an estimated 1.3 billion people live with some form of vision impairment, and 36 million people are blind. In Pakistan, according to the latest census, approximately 300,000 people are blind, with the highest numbers found in the Punjab province. Blindness creates a devastating chain effect, beginning with illiteracy and leading to the social exclusion of blind children. These young souls are among the most vulnerable in the world, and shockingly, very few have access to the education they deserve. The social inclusion of blind children is largely dependent on special education; however, very few institutions in Pakistan are capable of meeting their needs to their full potential, and many are either private or charge fees, making access to education a major hurdle for these children to achieve their unseen dreams.
Al-Mudassar Trust
SCHOOL FOR BLIND

At Al-Mudassar School for the Blind, we are dedicated to breaking this cycle. We currently have over 50 blind children enrolled, where they receive education through Braille and engage in Hifz (memorising the Quran). This combination not only helps them develop literacy skills but also nurtures their spiritual growth. Our curriculum is designed to empower these children, offering them the tools they need to excel academically and socially, despite the challenges posed by blindness.
We also offer a unique opportunity through our Al-Mudassar Sufi Academy, where children use their melodious voices to sing hymns and religious songs. The beauty of their voices is nothing short of extraordinary and touches the souls of all who hear them. The children of the Sufi Academy have performed on TV and at various functions, showcasing their incredible talent and bringing joy to those around them.
At Al-Mudassar, we believe that when God takes away one ability, He adorns you with another. This philosophy guides everything we do, as we strive to give blind children the chance to shine in their own way. Through education, music, and spiritual growth, we help these children discover their potential and build a future full of promise.
We are proud to offer a space where blind children can not only access quality education but also feel empowered to live their lives to the fullest, contributing their unique gifts to the world around them.
Al-Mudassar Trust provides free education to 70 blind children, giving them the opportunity to learn, develop independence, and build a brighter future.
Please donate today and help transform the life of a blind child.
