Al-Mudassar Trust
SCHOOL FOR DEAF
In Pakistan, fewer than 5% of the over one million deaf children have access to proper education. Even those who manage to enrol often drop out early due to the challenges they face in a conventional learning environment. The primary issue for deaf children is not the absence of hearing, but rather the lack of understanding. Many deaf children are born to hearing parents who often do not have the knowledge or skills to address their child’s needs. For children born into poverty, the situation is even more dire, with limited opportunities for social inclusion.
At Al-Mudassar, we are committed to changing this reality. Our school provides a safe and supportive educational environment tailored to meet the emotional, social, and academic needs of deaf children. We believe in empowering these children with education that equips them to become valuable, independent members of society, rather than leaving them dependent or marginalised.
Our curriculum is taught entirely in sign language, ensuring that every child can fully engage and understand the lessons. We also have a dedicated Audiology Department that regularly checks and monitors the hearing of our students, providing essential support to identify and address any hearing-related issues. This comprehensive approach ensures that our children receive the best possible care and educational experience.

Al-Mudassar offers classes from Kindergarten through to 12th grade, with each level of teaching specifically adapted to support children with hearing impairments. All of our teachers are qualified in Pakistan Sign Language, allowing them to communicate effectively and provide a learning environment that is both inclusive and accessible. Each year, we proudly maintain a 100% pass rate in board exams, demonstrating the high standards of education at our school. Currently, over 350 children are enrolled, each receiving individualised attention and care to help them achieve their fullest potential.
We recognise that supporting the family unit is also crucial for the success of our students. As such, we offer counselling sessions for parents, providing them with the knowledge and skills to better understand and care for their deaf children. This support helps foster stronger family bonds and empowers parents to navigate the challenges of raising a child with special needs.
At Al-Mudassar, we believe that every child, regardless of their disabilities, deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Our school focuses not only on academic education but also on building confidence, promoting social inclusion, and preparing each child to become an active, empowered participant in society.
Al-Mudassar Trust provides free education to 350 deaf children, giving them the opportunity to learn, communicate, and build a brighter future.
Please donate today and help transform the life of a deaf child.
